NASA has started fueling space shuttle Endeavour at launch pad 39-A at Kennedy Space Center in preparation for launch at 7:17 a.m. EDT Saturday to the international space station.
Engineers began pumping a half-million gallons of super cold liquid oxygen and hydrogen into Endeavour's external tank at around 10 p.m. Friday.
So far the countdown has been trouble-free and the weather looks like it's going to be perfect. Air Force meteorologists say there is a 90 percent chance the weather will be acceptable for launch.
The tank should be filled by around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Commander Mark Polansky, pilot Douglas Hurley, and mission specialists Julie Payette, David Wolf, Christopher Cassidy, Thomas Marshburn and Timothy Kopra should head to the launch pad at 3:27 a.m. to begin strapping into the shuttle.
